About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Neurophysiology Technician to join our dynamic team within the Neurology Unit. Reporting to the Head of Service and Head of Epilepsy Services, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic readings for specialist neurologists. This includes conducting routine Electroencephalography (EEG), Video-EEG monitoring (VEM), and multi-modality Evoked Potentials (EPs) to support accurate diagnoses and exceptional patient care. Your expertise will contribute to advancing the service’s reputation for excellence in neurodiagnostic procedures.
In addition to performing these crucial assessments, you will also assist in the training and supervision of junior staff, helping to foster a collaborative and supportive learning environment. About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a combination of relevant qualifications, strong technical expertise, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will be committed to continuous learning and maintaining high standards of patient care.
- Hold a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a relevant technical discipline and an Associate Diploma of Health Science (Clinical Neurophysiology) or equivalent.
- Demonstrate the ability to independently perform EEG, VEM, VEP, BSAEP, and SSEP studies, with a sound understanding of neurophysiology.
- Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, able to engage with patients and multidisciplinary teams effectively.
- Have a high level of organisational skills, manual dexterity, and a commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice.
