About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cabinet Maker / Wood Machinist to join our team at Sunlight Projects PTY LTD in Rouse Hill, NSW. This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for machining and fabricating high-quality custom cabinetry for residential and commercial projects.

What you'll be doing

• Machining using our state-of-the-art Biesse CNC
• Learning how to customise unique custom pieces using our CNC programming techniques
• Edging on our state-of-the-art Biesse edge-bander
• Organising the loading area and ensure smooth, efficient and clean use of space
• Use of our forklift to arrange packs of boards and other materials
• Fabricating and assembling cabinets, countertops, and other custom woodwork in our workshop
• Ensuring all work meets industry standards and client expectations
• Collaborating with the design team to translate concepts into functional, beautiful cabinetry
• Maintaining plant equipment and workshop equipment in to ensure they are in good working order
• Occasionally assisting onsite with deliveries or installation as required
• Other tasks as required

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a cabinet maker / Wood Machinist, with at least 2-5 years in the Carpentry & Cabinet Making industry
• Strong technical skills in woodworking, including operating power tools and reading blueprints
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials and work on your feet for extended periods
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal departments and the design team
• Positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Manual drivers licence
• Fork lift licence
• Reliability, punctuality and a can do attitude
