About the role
Reporting to the Manager Volunteers, you will assist with recruitment, orientation and ongoing training of volunteers for clients in accordance with program guidelines and procedures, as well as assisting with client assessments. There will be travelling involved both across Victoria metropolitan and state-wide.
- Recruitment and orientation of volunteers and assessment of clients.
- Organising of volunteer and client events, within budget allocation
- Support volunteers, clients and visiting programs to the highest professional standard of service.
- Ensure that where possible programs are delivered in the community’s own ethnic group and whenever able, cater for the preferences of that ethnic group.
- Prepare monthly reports, meeting minutes and other general administration tasks.
- Promote MiCare and its purposes and activities by fostering and developing community links through participation in MiCare’s public relations activities.
About you
- Experience working with volunteers, older people and/or carer support
- A working knowledge of volunteerism in aged care services, and the community services sector
- Ability to travel across MiCare locations and to community sites within Victoria
Qualifications
- Certificate level qualifications in social work, community services, welfare or equivalent would be advantageous, but not mandatory
- National Police Check, annual flu vaccination, full covid vaccination
- Valid Victorian drivers licence, comprehensively insured and roadworthy vehicle
