Our Hamilton Island Holiday Homes department offers unique self-catering accommodation options across the island for our valued guests. We’re currently managing 160 individually-owned holiday homes around the island, ranging from 1-bedroom apartments to 7-bedroom luxury homes, and we continue to expand.
Hamilton Island Holiday Homes has an opportunity for an experienced and organised Handyperson to join our professional and guest focused team.

Your Role:
• Ensuring all buildings, fixtures and fittings are maintained and repaired on a timely basis as directed, ensuring a high standard of product quality
• Prioritiseing and attend to urgent repairs of any description required for guest comfort to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction at all times
• Responsible for the maintenance and security of all tools which are the property of HIE
• Your average day may see you cleaning gutters, getting a TV working, fixing a door, sanding, doing minor repairs and gardening throughout the HIHH portfolio.
About You
• Valid manual driver licence
• White construction card
• Partial trade qualifications an asset
• Reliable and flexible attitude
• Excellent personal presentation and communication skills

About Hamilton Island Enterprises
History
From its original settlement by the Ngaro Aboriginal tribe, to its visit by Captain Cook in 1770, and evolution as a tourist destination in the 1970s and 1980s, Hamilton Island has had a long and interesting history. The island was purchased by renowned Australian winemaker, Bob Oatley, in 2003, and since, has become one of the world’s leading holiday destinations.
Environment
While there is an abundance of restaurants, bars and resorts on Hamilton Island, only a third of the island is developed - meaning the rest remains in its pristine, natural state. There are more than a dozen walking trails through which guests can explore the island.
Infrastructure
Every year, the Oatley family invests millions of dollars in improving the accommodation, infrastructure and services available on Hamilton Island. This includes ensuring that waste is disposed of in the most environmentally-friendly manner - and is re-used wherever possible - as well as making sure power sources are utilised in the most efficient way.
