The Learning Space is a 68 place, privately owned and operated early childhood education centre and kindergarten.

The opportunity has become available for a permanent part-time Educator with a Certificate 3 and Food Handling Certificate to join our dynamic team.

About the role

The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting in the general ongoing food preparation/reheating, serving food, heating bottles, washing dishes & general cleaning duties. The position involves following food safety guidelines and procedures at The Learning Space, reporting directly to the centre management .

In between meal times, the role will also involve assisting our educators on the floor by covering breaks and transitions, therefore a minimum certificate III in early childhood is required.

The successful applicant will be an energetic, dedicated strong team player, with the ability to follow food safety procedures and guidelines.

We would like to welcome a kitchen hand to heat and serve meals for up to 68 children per day. The role is Monday - Friday, Hours 9am - 2pm.

To be successful for this position, you must have:

• a minimum of a cert 3 in early childhood education
• relevant food handling certificates
• a current and valid Working with Children Check
• a current first aid CPR and emergency asthma and anaphylaxis training
• experience with the NQF, NQS & EYLF
• food handling experience
• knowledge of the Food Safety Standards
• experience in providing Allergy Safe Food
• excellent verbal and written communication skills
• a bright and friendly personality
