About the department
The SPS at The Royal Women's Hospital handles the crucial tasks of decontamination, packaging, sterilisation, and storage of reusable medical devices. We provide essential services to 7 operating rooms, our recently opened Day Procedure Centre (DPC), and various hospital wards including NISC, Emergency departments, and outpatient clinics.
About the Role

This autonomous role within the SPS Department offers casual employment in a supportive environment. As an ­Instrument Technician you'll collaborate with experienced management and clinical teams.
A regular day will see you:
• Ensuring strict adherence to sterilisation practices and infection control standards.
• Cleaning, washing, packing, wrapping, and sterilising instruments, equipment, and consumables used across operating theatres, DPC, wards, and outpatient clinics.
About You

You'll also bring with you:
• Hold a Certificate III in Sterilising Services.
• Demonstrate 2 to 3 years of clinical experience as an Instrument Technician.
• Exhibit a solid understanding of infection control requirements and Australian Sterilising Standard (AS/NZS5369).
• Proven experience in a fast-paced CSSD hospital environment.
• Expertise in sterilisation procedures, practices, and standards.
• Familiarity with instrumentation and experience using tracking systems.
