About the Role
The APS 5 Fraud Investigator will conduct and support complex fraud investigations, providing expert policy advice, and ensuring compliance with Australian Government Investigation Standards.

You will play a key role in maintaining integrity and trust in government programs, working in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement and operational excellence.

What you will do

Utilise a Certificate IV in Government Investigations, or its equivalent, to support complex and sensitive criminal investigations.

Conduct interviews, prepare statements and affidavits, and manage evidential material and confidential information.

Assist with case preparation and compile briefs of evidence for referral to relevant agencies such as the Australian Federal Police and Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions.

Represent the client and provide testimonies in criminal and civil courts.

Analyse and process information to produce accurate and informative reports.

Contribute to process improvements and changes in workplace practices.

Assist in the execution of search warrants, which may require domestic air travel and working extended hours, including overnight stays.

What you will bring

A Certificate IV in Government Investigations (or equivalent qualification).

Strong analytical and investigative skills with experience in fraud detection and response.

Proven ability to interpret and apply legislation and policies in a practical setting.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Experience handling confidential and sensitive information with integrity and discretion.

Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic investigative environment.
