About the Project
Are you a high-performing, passionate educator with a love for natural history, science, and First Nations cultures? Do you want to make a significant impact by developing and delivering innovative educational programs? The Australian Museum is looking for two enthusiastic Education Project Officers to join our team to work on projects on a short-term basis.
About the Role
Education Project Officers at the Australian Museum focus on developing and delivering high-quality educational programs that highlight and celebrate history, natural sciences and First Nations cultures. These short-term project roles involve researching and designing learning programs that align with NSW education curricula and museum policies, with a strong emphasis on First Nations perspectives.
We are recruiting for two different roles;
1. Full time (35 hours per week). Focused on developing primary and secondary school learning units and online learning resources for First Nations education programs and reviewing existing First Nations education content in line with upcoming syllabus changes.
2. Part-time (14 hours per week). Focused on digital content generation for the preschool loans program
Both roles will work collaboratively across the Australian Museum and with community members and scientists to ensure a culturally appropriate approach towards content and delivery.
Employment Status:
· Clerk Grade 5/6
· Temporary, fixed term
· One full time role, and 1 part time role (14 hours per week)

You will be paid a competitive annual salary rate $97,027 - $107,059*, plus employer's contribution to superannuation (currently 11.5%) and annual leave loading.

About you
We are seeking two high-performing, passionate educators with a love for natural history, science, and committed to promoting First Nations cultures. The ideal candidates will be knowledgeable and experienced educators with a proven ability to deliver education resources that meet the needs of teachers and students.
They should be creative and culturally sensitive with experience in developing and delivering education content that authentically represents First nations perspectives. Successful candidates will be collaborative team players, able to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. While these roles are non-identified, First Nations candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
Knowledge & Experience
· Ability to teach a variety of education programs and experience in and understanding of how to translate complex scientific and cultural content for students and community audiences of a range of ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
· Demonstrated experience in education program development.
· Understanding, knowledge and interest in natural sciences, climate solutions, First Nations and Pasifika cultures, and cultural heritage issues.
· Adequate knowledge and experience in order to deliver the Key Accountabilities and perform to the Focus Capabilities outlined in this Role Description.
Essential requirements
· Tertiary qualifications in Education, and/or extensive experience in a similar role.
· Hold a valid NSW Working with Children clearance
