The Role:

An opportunity has become available for a suitably qualified Physiotherapist to apply for the Grade 3 position in the Preadmission Clinic and Prehabilitation services at the Northern Health.

This position is fixed term full time position until February 2026 (covering maternity leave) with monthly accrued day off. Part time applicants will be considered

The Physiotherapist Grade 3 has responsibility for the organisation, implementation and supervision of physiotherapy care in the cardiorespiratory team at Northern Hospital Epping.

Through their clinical expertise they will have a leading role in ensuring excellence in clinical care, promotion of quality, education of staff and students and team and program development. The clinical caseload focuses on delivery of evidence based, respiratory physiotherapy care with an emphasis on education and prevention of cardiorespiratory risk in high risk surgical candidates in the outpatient setting. There will be an emphasis on the development and evaluation of the pre-admission clinic program. The role may also include supervision, cover and leadership of the cardio-respiratory team; both inpatients and outpatients as required.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A background which includes significant clinical experience resulting in high level of skill in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy
  • Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to promote and develop a service.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and initiative in developing and promoting clinical care
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and promote evidence based practice
  • Possesses practical negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Experienced in supervision of junior physiotherapy staff and/or Allied Health Assistants
  • Experience in the management and education of undergraduate physiotherapy students
