WE'RE HIRING!

We are looking for an Accredited Fire Certification Practitioner to join the Select Fire team. This is a full time permenant positon reporting to the Operations Manager - Fire Services Greg Clayton.

We are seeking a qualified Fire Protection Certification, Compliance & AFSS Practitioner to ensure the highest standards of fire safety and compliance within our organization. This role involves overseeing fire protection systems, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation, and facilitating fire safety audits and assessments.

You will be required to travel to various client sites in Sydney and regional areas of New South Wales. You will be provided a company vehicle, Fuel card and toll tag.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Conducting System Interface Testing with associated contractor or consultants.
• Conducting site compliance audits inspections and produce compliance reports.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and national fire safety regulations and standards.
• Monitor and interpret changes in fire safety legislation and industry standards.
• When necessary, undertake NCC Building Code of Australia compliance reviews.
• Manage and conduct fire protection certification processes, including AFSS (Annual Fire Safety Statement) submissions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external authorities to ensure timely and accurate certification.
• Inspections against relevant standards of performance/ maintenance.
• Auditing of contractor maintenance records.
• Conduct regular fire safety audits and assessments of facilities and systems.
• Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Preparation of annual fire safety statements.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, and compliance activities.
• Prepare detailed reports for management and regulatory bodies as required.
• Preparing reports for clients as required
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their fire safety needs.
• Provide expert advice on fire protection solutions and compliance requirements.
• Actively seek out new sales opportunities by identifying potential clients and markets

REQUIREMENTS

• Solid experience as a Safety Measures/ ESP auditor, Building Inspector or in an aligned role in Building, Engineering, Facilities Management of commercial and industrial type buildings.
• Have completed, in the process or looking to become qualified through the FPAS Accreditation Scheme (Common Units Course / Diploma)
• Ideally be accredited to endorse all Essential Fire Safety Measure
• Excellent understanding of NCC, BCA, AS 1851 and relevant Australian Standards.
• The ability to identify and evaluate risk to buildings.
• An attention to detail and ability to proficiently write high quality building reports in a timely manner.
• Ability to inspect buildings and work autonomously.
• Proficiency with digital technology.
• Current Australian Driver's License
