Role Summary
Your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough audits and inspections at customer premises, focusing on the compliance of Essential Fire Safety Measures. Utilising your attention to detail and analytical skills, you will generate comprehensive reports using standardised templates, effectively communicating compliance status.
Key Responsibilities
• Conducting essential fire safety measure audits, facilitating systems interface tests and completing Annual Fire Safety Statements
• Identify fire hazards, such as faulty wiring, blocked exits, and improper storage of flammable materials, and advises building owners and occupants on corrective actions.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure optimal operation of fire safety systems.
• Conduct risk assessments and provide fire safety advice and solutions.
• Prepare and submit detailed reports and compliance documents.
• Review building documents such as fire and construction drawings and fire engineering reports to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and implementation of fire protection systems.
• Provide recommendations and feedback to address fire safety concerns.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
• Maintain an up-to-date Accredited Practitioner - Fire Safety (APFS) certification as part of the Fire Protection Accreditation Scheme (FPAS) issued by the Fire Protection Association Australia (FPAA).
• Have experience in the auditing of essential fire safety measures, with a sound knowledge of AS1851, the BCA and legacy codes and standards applicable to building fire safety.
• Current blue/White card
- Experience in testing Diesel Pump sets, Hydrant and Sprinkler systems
Skills and Experience
• Minimum 12 months experience in a similar role
• NSW Driver’s licence
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Eagerness to learn and upskill
• A genuine passion for the Fire Protection Industry
