Join our dynamic team as an After-Hours Night Support Worker at Junction!
We are dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to young people and carers across our Residential Care sites. As an After Hours Night Support Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of those in our care during after-hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide immediate response, intervention, and support to young people in partnership with Residential Youth Workers.
- Deliver high-quality after-hours emergency responses to staff and young people presenting with complex and high-risk issues.
- Conduct risk assessments and manage crisis situations effectively.
- Provide transport and support to young people during crises, ensuring their safety until the next working day.
- Collaborate with Residential Youth Workers to ensure appropriate decision-making and actions in line with individual crisis support plans and Junction's overnight safety plan.
- Complete residential care shifts as needed, ensuring seamless coverage across all sites.
- Maintain accurate and professional documentation of all activities and incidents.
About the role:
- Part-time (52.5 hours per fortnight)
- Ongoing position (subject to funding)
- Entitled to Non-for-Profit Salary Packaging
- SCHADs Award Level 2, paypoint 2-4 (dependent on qualifications and experience) - generous night and weekend penalties apply.
Selection Criteria
- Minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Youth Work, Welfare, or Community Services (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated understanding of Residential Care and the role of a Residential Care Youth Worker.
- Proven experience in managing the developmental and therapeutic needs of young people who have experienced trauma and require protective care.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and crisis management abilities.
- Knowledge of Therapeutic Crisis Management practices and their application in real-world scenarios.
- Ability to commit to a flexible roster, including evening, overnight, and weekend shifts, and work effectively as part of a team to meet program goals and objectives.
