Adecco is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and hands-on HSE Manager to take full ownership of safety and compliance within their Sydney-based manufacturing facility. This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to shape the company's HSE strategy and drive cultural change in a business that values flexibility, inclusion, and respect.

The business has established HSE frameworks and champions in place, but they are now looking for a dedicated leader to take full responsibility for driving safety initiatives and ensuring compliance across the site.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will take full ownership of health, safety, and environmental management, ensuring a proactive and compliant safety culture across the site. Working closely with leadership and HSE champions, you will drive continuous improvement and uphold industry best practices. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement HSE policies, ensuring alignment with company standards and local legislation.
- Take ownership of the HSE framework and annual action plans, working closely with site leadership and HSE champions.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and improve workplace safety.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and ISO accreditation frameworks (ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
- Provide leadership, coaching, and training to employees on safety procedures and best practices.
- Track and evaluate incident data to identify patterns and implement ongoing improvements.
- Engage with global HSE directors and contribute to company-wide safety initiatives.
- Attend and participate in global HSE meetings, with occasional travel for assessments.
- Ensure all necessary safety equipment, materials, and resources are available and maintained.
Your Profile
Our client is looking to meet with those that meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of 3-5 years' of experience in an HSE role within a manufacturing environment (device manufacturing, electronics, or intricate/detail-oriented industries preferred).
- NEBOSH certification or equivalent HSE qualification.
- Strong background in compliance, auditing, and risk management.
- Experience implementing and managing HSE policies, reporting, and analysis.
- Proven ability to lead and influence stakeholders across various departments.
- Knowledge of ISO accreditation frameworks (ISO 45001, ISO 14001 highly regarded).
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work collaboratively with HSE champions and senior leadership to drive a strong safety culture.

On offer are flexible working hours with the ability to start and finish based on job requirements, and work-from-home flexibility on Tuesdays and Thursdays (subject to approval). With a competitive salary between $130,000 and $140,000 + super, you will also be provided a company laptop and phone.
