We have three pharmacies within greater Hobart under the “Advantage” banner with a head office based in Liverpool Street, Hobart.

Position Summary

As an Accounts Clerk/Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions and payroll including assisting in the preparation of financial reports.

This position is permanent part-time with a maximum of 57 hours per fortnight. As this is not a client-facing position, hours can be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Qualifications and Skills

· Minimum of a Certificate IV in Bookkeeping

· Proficiency in accounting software (Reckon is highly desirable)

· Proven experience as an Accounts Clerk, Bookkeeper or in a similar role

· Understanding of payroll processing and tax laws

· Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping procedures

· Attention to detail and accuracy

· Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

· Strong organisational and time management skills

Key Responsibilities

· Record and reconcile financial transactions such as invoices, payments and receipts

· Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate

· Process payroll (of up to 40 employees), STP lodgment

· Manage accounts payable and receivable

· Prepare financial statements and reports as required

· Prepare accounts payable related to journals and accruals

· Prepare end of year information for accountant

· Prepare for and assist with auditing requirements on a annual basis

· Maintain organised financial filing systems and documentation
