The Role:
Wescott Industrial Services are seeking a highly competent Accounts Manager to manage all aspects of finance and payroll for our Group of Companies.
The candidate will display a high level of management skills, professionalism and the ability to work well as part of a team.
Applicants must have excellent communication skills both oral and written for communications with staff, suppliers, sub-contractors, clients and statutory bodies.
The successful individual will have completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting Finance with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
You will have at least 3+ years' experience in a management role, supervising and mentoring others with a collaborative team approach.
Essential Skills Required:
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance essential
- Experience in a similar role within the resource industry and/or previous management experience in finance and administration
- Past experience and full knowledge of XERO, MYOB and other accounts systems
- Employment Hero or other time-sheeting payroll systems an advantage
- High level of computer knowledge and proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook is an advantage for this role
- Highly organised and attention to detail is essential
- The ability to work effectively and autonomously with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to multi-task and appropriately manage conflicting priorities with high attention to accounts detail is essential.
- Ability to use, initiate and maintain a high degree of confidentiality, discretion and judgement
- HR experience an advantage
- Previous experience working across multiple business entities
- Understanding of payroll legislation, including the Fair Work Act and employment laws in Australia
The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Oversee and assist processing of Timesheets and weekly Payroll for a group of companies with 100+ employees and growing
- Export and review of labour hours accuracy
- Managing Accounts Receivable and Payable including cashflow projections and weekly reporting for all entities
- Managing and implementation of Purchase Order system
- Assist with timely and accurate invoice claims together with the Operations and Projects teams
- Ownership of month-end tasks to ensure all accounting across balance sheet, P&L and cash flow statement is complete and accurate
- Reconciliation and monthly accrual of accounts for End of Month Procedures and ensuring timely and accurate ATO submissions
- Regular reporting and lodgements of BAS statements, PAYG, Super, Workcover, Portable Long Service Leave and all other statutory requirements
- Communicating and maintaining strong relationships with clients and suppliers
- Actively involved with Senior Management in further process improvement and implementing costs efficiencies controls
- Provide assistance in the analysis of project performance
- Preparation of daily and weekly reports and proactive analysis to provide feedback to the Senior Management team
- Responsible for the preparation of annual operating budgets and quarterly reviews
- Supervise and mentor accounts and administration employees
- Direct liaison with the external accountants for all accounting, taxation and audit purposes
- Assist with other finance, accounting, corporate development and commercial ad-hoc tasks as identified
