FourQuarters is engaged with a well known healthcare provider in Melbourne who are looking for an experienced Billings Revenue Officer to join on a 6 months fixed term contract.
Location: Inner Melbourne
Contract: 6 months FTC

The role
The are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Revenue Services Officer to join the growing Melbourne Finance team. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient billing and recovery of private and compensable patient revenue, as well as supporting the overall financial sustainability for the wider organisation. As part of a dynamic team, you will work closely with clinical and non-clinical staff to optimise billing practices and maximize revenue.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Raise patient accounts and ensure the accuracy of patient details, classifications, admissions, and invoicing.
- Assist in the development and execution of private and compensable revenue strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Nurse Unit Managers, Pathology, Fertility & Radiology departments, to ensure revenue is maximised.
- Manage all customer service inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Analyze billing data, identify trends, and provide statistical insights for decision-making.
- Work alongside other finance departments to streamline processes and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Contribute to revenue-related projects and initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and best practices.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and industry standards such as Medicare and insurance compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in customer service or administrative roles within a similar healthcare environment, ideally in a heavily regulated setting.
- Proven expertise in delivering revenue services, including billing and collection, within a large organisation.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data manipulation, statistical analysis, and reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Medicare, private health insurance is preferred
- Proficiency with healthcare software systems such as iPM, Cerner, ARIA & MS Excel is advantageous
