Position: Squad and Recreational Gymnastics Coach

Melbourne Acrobatic Gymnastics Academy (MAGA) is a vibrant and inclusive gymnastics community based in Cranbourne West, dedicated to developing athletes of all levels. With a strong focus on excellence, teamwork, and fun, we provide high-quality coaching in acrobatic gymnastics, women’s artistic gymnastics (WAG), and recreational gymnastics. MAGA fosters a positive environment where athletes can thrive, learn, and enjoy their sport.

Role Overview:
We are seeking passionate and experienced gymnastics coaches to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring energy, technical expertise, and a love for coaching to inspire our athletes. This role involves working with athletes across various programs, from recreational to competitive levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver structured, engaging, and safe gymnastics sessions tailored to athletes’ skill levels and goals.
• Develop and refine athletes' technical skills in acrobatic gymnastics and/or WAG.
• Provide constructive feedback to athletes to foster progress and confidence.
• Ensure a positive, supportive, and inclusive training environment.
• Supervise and manage athletes during training and competitions.
• Collaborate with the coaching team to uphold MAGA’s standards and values.
• Assist with preparing athletes for competitions, including choreography and routine development (if applicable).
• Support academy events such as end-of-year displays, competitions, and team-building activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant gymnastics coaching accreditation (Intermediate or Advanced preferred).
• Experience coaching acrobatic gymnastics, WAG, or recreational gymnastics.
• Strong understanding of skill progressions and safety requirements.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Working with Children Check or equivalent (or willingness to obtain).

• Advanced Silver accreditation or judging qualifications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate athletes of all levels.
