Role overview

We’re looking for an energetic and professional project management all-rounder to help us develop the next generation of our products as we expand into an exciting new direction. The role is within our tech team and involves understanding customer needs, helping to define tasks and projects, planning and executing testing tasks, writing and driving processes and running team meetings.

Who would this role suit

This is the kind of person who could fit well (but if you're a little different to this, let us know why you'd still be great):

  • You love process, to-do lists and measuring outcomes (as you're the one who needs to give structure to ideas and see them through their implementation)
  • You're confident and self-motivated (we value independence, and this job isn't for someone who needs a lot of hand-holding)
  • You happy working both collaboratively and autonomously (tech are mostly a distributed team, but our operational teams are based in Melbourne)
  • You’ve gained broad experiences from working on different projects or with different clients (we love it when you come with fresh ideas based on what you see has worked or not in the past)
  • You want to be at work, but also don’t see it as your social life (we don't have foosball tables)
  • You want to be working on high-impact work, not as a little cog in a big machine (there are just a few of us building products used by tens of thousands of users)
  • You've never said the words “that's not my job” (as part of a small-but scaling business we all wear many hats)
  • You're excited by all the new things AI can do and are actively experimenting with how to make the most of it
Working arrangements
  • This role can be full time or 4 days per week
  • This role can be performed predominantly from home, our Melbourne office or Thomastown warehouse office
  • Some in-person days will be required from time to time at the Thomastown warehouse, which is accessible by car, or a 10 min walk from a train station
  • Salary commensurate with experience
  • This role reports into the Chief Product Officer
Our Story

Last K Ventures is a scaling Australian prop-tech business, helping to reduce congestion and pollution in our cities by fixing the way Australians receive deliveries. We do this through smart lockers, great software and a desire to take pain away from couriers, facility managers and recipients. Our company operates the Groundfloor™ parcel locker network, the LastK™ click and collect network and have exciting new developments in the works.

We value diversity in all its forms. We understand that people have families as well as jobs (because work isn’t everything). Over half of our company and ⅔ of our co-founders are women (which is rare in both tech and property).

Desired skills
  • Organisation – making the plans, taking the notes, following through.
  • Communication – confident to reach out to people in the team, or our customers and partners and collaborate with people professionally and effectively.
  • Excellent writing skills – clarity and specificity is important when planning projects and tasks.
  • Testing – ability to plan structured testing processes and willingness to get in there and QA our products.
  • An interest in technology – defining technical tasks requires understanding the work enough to appreciate what's involved, but not to undertake it yourself. An active interest in what's going on in technology is important.
  • Willingness to contribute to a broad range of activities.
Other highly regarded experience
  • Experience with software testing
  • Experience in defining user stories and/or technical requirements
  • Experience writing simple database queries
  • Data science/analytics skills
  • Interest in IoT technology
  • Experience working with courier companies
  • Experience working with e-commerce companies
If you haven't been a project manager before

Candidates with other technical backgrounds will also be considered. Maybe you're making a change from being:

  • Business analyst
  • Tester/QA
  • Data analyst
  • Software developer
  • Technical support
  • User experience design
  • Cyber security
  • On maternity or paternity leave

Get in touch – we'd love to meet you.
