The role

The Project Manager position is a key contributor to the Business Services portfolio at WA Primary Health Alliance. The position works across the organisation managing complex/critical projects including the development and implementation of assigned projects and processes that support the strategic plan and drive value for the organisation and its key stakeholders; and providing project assurance to the organisation.

Planning and organisation skills are critical to this role to enable the incumbent to work on process development and implementation, with strong project management experience, and be able to direct the work of others. The role will also require ability to frequently develop resolutions to complex problems that require creativity in the development of new process & methods.

This role will be offered as a Full-time Maximum-Term contract for 2 years and offers the flexibility to work from home and office.

Core responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Build, lead, and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative team environment and promoting open communication.
  • Engage with stakeholders to define project objectives, requirements, and deliverables, and communicate project status, issues, and risks to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, allocate resources appropriately, and ensure their optimal utilisation.
  • Identify and assess project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively manage issues and changes to achieve project goals.
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance processes, monitor project deliverables to ensure they meet established quality standards, and conduct regular project evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports, and prepare regular status reports and presentations for stakeholders and management.
  • Evaluate project processes, performance, and outcomes to identify areas for improvement, implement best practices, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the project team.
  • Utilise project management software and tools effectively, stay updated with the latest project management methodologies and technologies, and train team members as needed.
  • Ensure projects adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and organisational policies, and implement governance frameworks and established project management methodologies.
  • Act as a day-to-day point of contact for a group of stakeholders, responsible for the delivery of projects/programmes on behalf of the stakeholder group.

About you

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following selection criteria:

Essential experience and education

  • Possess tertiary qualifications or relevant demonstrated experience in business, project management, human service delivery, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering end-to-end projects using appropriate project methodologies to plan, manage, and monitor progress.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and influence others to achieve a common vision or goal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop strategies, ideas, and opportunities for resolving issues.
  • Highly organised with the capability to effectively manage multiple project officers, stakeholders, and/or agencies, ensuring efficient output and content management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation abilities.
  • Proficient in information and communication technology, including project management software, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
  • Formal qualifications in project management (Preferred)

We are a planning and Commissioning body dedicated to building a robust and patient centred primary health and social care system to ensure improved health equity for all West Australians.

In early 2015 the Commonwealth Government awarded WAPHA the contract to operate WA’s three Primary Health Networks (PHNS) – Perth North , Perth South and Country WA.
