Our candidate is a motivated and innovative Junior Bookkeeper/Accountant with the ability to handle the day to day admin requirements of a growing SME. This role offers a great opportunity for a young professional who is eager to gain experience in bookkeeping and accounting while working in a proactive administrative capacity. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong interest in the environment and sustainability.
- Basic knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting, or finance principles.
- Experience or coursework in accounting or a related field is required.
- Experience job manufacturing cost accounting is a definite plus but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and comfortable with using XERO accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Positive attitude, strong team player, and eagerness to contribute to a collaborative environment and constant curiousity.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- AI experience and willingness to implement a ket advantage.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Bookkeeping & Accounting Support:
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers.
- Process quotations, invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Help prepare financial reports and assist with budget tracking.
- Follow up debtors and setting up of credtor accounts and terms.
- Reconcile accounts and assist with monthly and year-end financial closing - preferred but not essential.
Administrative Assistance:
- Handle day-to-day office operations, OHS compliance and documentation as well as insurance , scheduling, and correspondence.
- Assist in organizing meetings, events, and internal communications.
- Provide support to the project and production teams as required, including data entry and document preparation.
Environmental Awareness:
- Drive sustainability initiatives and ensure the company’s financial practices align with environmentally-friendly goals.
- Initiate and execute internal green projects, helping to streamline processes with an eco-friendly approach.
