If you have experience leading program facilitation and/or behaviour change programs and are looking to further your career with an organisation dedicated to the prevention of Family Domestic Violence and Abuse (FDVA), then we have just the role for you!
The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Behaviour Change Coordinator to join our residential Breathing Space Men’s Behaviour Change Program.
The Behaviour Change Coordinator develops and delivers a residential behaviour change program specifically designed to men who choose to use violence and abuse in their relationships with partners(s) or family members. The program is delivered in a secure and supportive therapeutic setting and provides educational group work, informal counselling, individual case management and advocacy.
This approach supports victim survivors, including children, to remain in their homes and in connection with their support networks, to maximise their safety. The role leads a team of passionate Specialist Behaviour Change Facilitators ensuring the efficient and effective deployment of resources and the delivery of quality services.
In this role your key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating operational staffing requirements and program delivery.
- Supervision of facilitated group work for men who choose to use violence in intimate relationships and provide support to work towards positive change.
- Contributing to risk assessments, safety planning, case note and report writing.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Working closely with clients when they are encountering a situational crisis or emotional distress, by providing strategies and support to manage uncomfortable emotions and feelings.
If you have experience working with clients and groups focussed on behaviour change for FDVA, AOD, Mental Health or other relatable support areas, we want to hear from you! This is your chance to transfer those skills and contribute to the safety of women and children impacted by FDVA.
This position will be offered on a permanent full-time basis working 76 hours per fortnight. Due to the nature of the position and industry, shift work may be required.
Who Are We?
Since opening our doors in 1977, our passion for delivering high quality, people-focused support services has continued to flourish. In May 2020, we became the new custodian of White Ribbon Australia, establishing a national footprint for the organisation.
We remain committed to growing a workforce that celebrates diversity and seeks to inspire and empower the people we serve.
While we’ve changed a lot over the past 45 years, our values – Everyone is welcome, Doing what we say, Above and beyond, and Stronger together– remain at the very heart of everything we do.
