Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns is a luxury five-star hotel located beside Marlin Marina and Trinity Inlet in the heart of Cairns. The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, The Accounts Clerk is responsible for ascertaining that all daily income generated by the Hotel, was received and properly recorded. The Accounts Clerk is also responsible for ensuring adherence to financial control procedures by outlet and front office cashiers.
Your Responsibilities will include:
- Liase with Hotel Night Manager regarding work provided by Night Audit.
- Complete Daily Revenue Reporting.
- Audit guest checks for accuracy (covers, promotions, discounts, etc.)
- Complete daily spreadsheet for third-party suppliers
- Audit Night Audit work and required spreadsheets
- Review city ledgers, rebates, and staff laundry entitlements
- Maintain and reorder night audit boxes
- Review and follow up on daily cashiering details and variances
- Enter and audit tip allocation spreadsheet
- Conduct monthly surprise cash counts on house floats
- Review PM/PY accounts and liaise for adjustments
- Control and audit pre-numbered hotel forms daily
- Ensure compliance of F&B journals with SLIM standards
- Follow up on missing documentation and procedural issues
- Host monthly Income Audit meeting
- Relieve General Cashier as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by Financial Controller or Assistant Financial Controller
About you:
- Knowledge of hotel environment is desirable
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
