At Unite Advisory Pty Ltd, we are looking for a motivated Assistant Accountant to join our team in Coffs Harbour. This role is perfect for someone with recent Public Practice experience who enjoys compliance work is eager to build their expertise and work closely with experienced accountants.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assisting in the preparation of financial statements, tax returns, and BAS returns for Sole Traders, Partnerships, Companies, Trusts, and SMSFs.
• Conducting reconciliations, preparing workpapers, and handling general accounting duties.
• Working with MYOB, Xero, and other client accounting software.
• This is much more than just a book-keeping role; you need compliance experience as well.
• Supporting senior accountants on a diverse range of client accounts.
• Using Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) to manage workflows and documentation.

What We’re Looking For

• Public Practice experience – You have worked in an accounting firm for at least two years before and understand the workflow.
• Accuracy & attention to detail – You take pride in getting things right.
• Strong communication & teamwork skills – You enjoy working with others and contributing to a positive team environment.
• Drive to learn & grow – You’re looking for a firm that will invest in your development.
• Proficiency with accounting software – Experience with Xero, MYOB, and other platforms is highly desirable.
• Full working rights in Australia.
