About the Role:
As the Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing sales and customer relationship strategies that align with Elexon’s mission and objectives. You will head up a small team that ensures customer engagement and retention, driving our business forward in a sustainable and profitable direction. This is your opportunity to make a lasting impact, both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Tender and Quotation Processes: Prepare tenders and quotations for contract manufacturing services and engineering projects.
- Pricing Strategy Expertise: Develop and implement pricing strategies, manage price lists, and analyse product profitability.
- Customer Relationship Management: Co-manage our CRM system, develop strategies for customer feedback, and build strong, lasting relationships with clients.
- Market Expansion: Analyse and identify new opportunities for growth, working closely with customers to maintain strategic expansion plans.
- Marketing Support: Participate in the creation of marketing materials, industry events, and internal/external communications.
- Compliance & Sustainability: Ensure all departmental activities adhere to environmental policies, procedures, and legislation.
Who You’ll Work With:
This role will collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment across the business:
- Project Manager reports to you ensuring the business you bring in is brought into manufacture smoothly
- Engineering Manager for customer expectations and capability updates
- Manufacturing Manager for production costs and schedules
- Purchasing Manager for pricing strategies
- Quality Manager for up-to-date quality information
What We’re Looking For:
We need someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with a strong track record in sales and customer relationship management.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field or significant industry experience in technical sales or manufacturing
- Proven sales and presentation skills
- Extensive experience in developing and managing customer relationships
- Independent and analytical thinking with a keen eye for detail
- Strong communication, project management, and Microsoft Office proficiency
Desirable (But Not Essential):
- Industry-specific product knowledge in high-end electronics
- Experience with ERP and CRM systems
- Experience in the sales of manufacturing services
