Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of sales/warehouse associates, ensuring they are knowledgeable about products, sales techniques, and customer service standards.
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
- Foster a positive and motivating work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and a customer-centric approach.
2. Sales and Revenue Generation
- Set sales targets, KPIs, and goals for the store, and develop strategies to achieve and exceed them.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, customer traffic, and trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Lead by example in driving sales and providing excellent customer service, actively engaging with customers and closing sales when necessary.
3. Customer Experience
- Ensure a consistent and exceptional customer experience by upholding the brand's service standards and creating a welcoming atmosphere in the store.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally, aiming to resolve issues and maintain customer satisfaction.
4. Inventory Management
- Manage inventory levels with to meet customer demand while minimizing stock shortages and overages.
- Coordinate with suppliers and the corporate office to ensure timely restocking of products and accurate inventory records.
5. Visual Merchandising
- Oversee the store's visual presentation, ensuring that displays are visually appealing, well-organised, and aligned with the brand's guidelines.
- Regularly update product displays to reflect new arrivals, promotions, and seasonal themes.
6. Operational Excellence
- Maintain a well-functioning store by overseeing daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and security protocols.
- Collaborate with maintenance and support teams to address any technical issues, repairs, or facility maintenance needs.
7. Reporting and Communication
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance, inventory levels, and other relevant metrics for presentation to higher management.
- Communicate effectively with the corporate office, providing updates on store operations, challenges, and opportunities.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail management, preferably in the bedding, furniture, or related industry.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in sales techniques, inventory management, and basic financial management.
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for visual merchandising.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Experience using Retail Express POS software is desirable.
- Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as required.
This position requires you to work on weekends.
