Stakeholder Engagement & Communications Advisor

The role will lead the Remote Communities stakeholder engagement and communications to manage the dissemination of information. You will build of positive relationships for Remote Communication to ensure alignment with strategic direction.

This is a permanent full-time role.

Your new role will:

  • Develop and lead internal and external stakeholder and communication strategies that ensure Remote Communities engagement is clear and consistent.
  • Ensure alignment the Horizon Power and Corporate Affairs strategies to anticipate and manage reputational risks.
  • Evaluate and revise communications plans for efficacy and impact.
  • Continual improvement and ongoing alignment with strategic, policy, political, technical, and environmental shifts.
  • Support the development of specific project communications where appropriate in collaboration with the Remote Communities marketing specialist.
  • Support project teams to deliver stakeholder engagement strategies that achieve buy-in, support and success for initiatives, identifying relevant risks, issues, opportunities, or challenges.
  • Support the Traditional Owner Relationships and Reconciliation team to develop a coordinated approach to traditional owner engagement by leveraging insights and priorities and advised by relevant team members.

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, business, or a related field is mandatory.
  • Significant experience in stakeholder engagement and communications management.
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous affairs.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of stakeholder engagement and communications strategies.
  • Significant experience in identifying, managing and resolving complex and sensitive issues, hot topics and risks relating to internal and external communications.
  • Experience working in or with government and a strong understanding of government and parliamentary processes.
  • Experience working in or with media and an understanding of the Western Australian media industry.
