Senior Payroll Officer – Busy Bees Australia

As a Senior Payroll Officer at Busy Bees Australia, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient, timely, and accurate processing of our payroll cycles. You will collaborate with various internal stakeholders, uphold compliance with relevant legislation, and contribute to the development of the payroll team. This position requires a strong understanding of payroll procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Stakeholder Engagement:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, offering support and guidance on payroll-related inquiries.
• Provide payroll assistance to management and staff, ensuring clear communication and prompt resolution of issues.

Payroll Processing:

• Accurately and efficiently process Busy Bees Australia’s payroll cycles in line with company procedures.
• Assist in processing ACCCCO payroll and ensure compliance with relevant awards and Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBA).
• Ensure payroll practices align with all federal and state statutory requirements.
• Calculate and process salary adjustments, back pay, leave entitlements, and termination payments, adhering to legal and regulatory standards.
• Handle authorized deductions, workers' compensation, and paid parental leave payments as required.
• Review fortnightly payroll data in Workday for accuracy, collaborating with service managers to address any discrepancies.
• Lead the fortnightly payroll process, ensuring timely execution and compliance.
• Generate and distribute required payroll reports.

Worker’s Compensation:

• Manage and process all Worker’s Compensation claims in compliance with legislative, policy, and procedural requirements.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely claim processing.
• Ensure accurate and prompt claims submission to relevant state Workers’ Compensation providers.

System Maintenance (Preceda):

• Maintain and update Preceda in relation to centre acquisitions.
• Liaise with Preceda Helpdesk to resolve any system-related issues.
• Assist in the end-of-month (EOM) and end-of-year (EOY) payroll finalization processes.

Team Development:

• Assist in mentoring and developing team members within the payroll section to foster a high-performing team.
