Position: EOI - Commercial Lead, Contract Specialist, Contract Advisor
Location: Brisbane
Employment Type: Mon – Fri, 38 hrs a week, until Aug 2025
Maxima is currently seeking various highly motivated Contract Specialist Professionals for one of our government clients in Brisbane.
We are seeking dedicated Contract specialist professionals who will play a pivotal role in managing high-value contracts, ensuring compliance and driving value across projects.
What You’ll Bring
As a Commercial Lead – $68.31/hr + super (over 8 years exp)
- Establish cost tracking systems, control expenditure, and assess variations and claims
- Manage major infrastructure contracts, negotiate service agreements, and supervise contract-related activities.
- Analyze performance trends, monitor financial outcomes, and optimize resource usage.
- Oversee contract reviews, manage risks and issues, and ensure process compliance.
As a Contract Advisor – $ 59/hr + super ( 5 to 8 years exp)
- Establish and maintain contracts using systems like Ellipse and Open Windows, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting.
- Lead sourcing activities up to $250k and manage payment systems for assigned contracts.
- Analyse data to support supplier management decisions and improve contract performance.
As a Contract Specialist – $40 - $46/hr + super (Experience needed – 3 to 5 yrs exp)
- Administer high-value, high-volume contracts, ensuring accurate cost tracking, financial reporting, and compliance.
- Provide expert contract management advice, resolve non-conformances and maintain strong contractor relationships.
- Monitor supplier performance, negotiate claims and contribute to continuous process improvements.
Key Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in administration, financial management, construction management, engineering, accounting, or quantity surveying, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of asset-based work breakdown structures and cost control.
- Commercial experience with Total Cost Estimate (TCE) and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) frameworks.
- Strong contract administration and management expertise.
- Commercial acumen and the ability to develop practical solutions.
- High-level analytical and data analysis skills to support decision-making.
- Proficiency in budgeting, costing, and financial reporting.
