About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to join our Nuclear and Capability (N&C) Business Unit, as we grow ASC capabilities to support both Collins Class and Nuclear Powered Submarine Programs.
As a Project Controls Manager, you will be accountable for the provision of effective project controls for the Nuclear and Capability (N&C) Business Unit. Working closely with the N&C Leadership Team, you will lead the development of project controls processes and procedures to ensure projects are planned, progressed, managed, monitored, and executed within schedule and cost constraints.
Responsibilities
- Establish standards, templates, and processes for the management of N&C Programs and Projects of work.
- Plan and schedule N&C programs, projects and activities.
- Develop and manage cost estimates for N&C projects.
- Provide progress and project health metric reporting.
- Implement earned value management (EVM) and baseline change management.
- Coordinate monthly analysis and reporting activities.
- Manage a team of Project Controls Analysts.
- Ensure consistent schedule and cost data flow between ASC’s corporate systems.
- Identify and deliver continuous improvement projects within the PMO and N&C business units.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Commerce/Economics, Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Project Controls, Cost Control, Cost Estimating, and Project Planning & Scheduling, ideally in the defence sector.
- Demonstrated experience in effective implementation and execution of Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Experience with training and mentoring staff in Project Controls methods.
- Experience with COBRA (for EVM), Primavera P6 or Open Plan Professional (for Scheduling), Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI (desirable).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Autonomous, goal-directed, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
Eligibility
