About Destec Destec is a diversified mining contractor with a fast-growing client base, providing ore crushing, screening and materials handling to the mining industry.

We take pride in innovation through designing, constructing, building, maintaining and operating our own crushing and screening plants for Tier 1 mining sites. Additionally we provide ore processing and materials handling services to the mining industry across Western Australia.

About the role Due to an increase in works we are currently seeking experienced Boilermakers / Welders to join our workshop team based in Canning Vale. With opportunity to assist on occasion with our mines site based FIFO shutdowns, and site coverage (paid at 12 hours per day).

Hours: Monday to Friday (10 hours) Saturday (6 hours) - 56 hours per week

Rates: Full Time + Leave Entitlements
Ordinary Time $43.00
Time & Half $64.50
Double Time $86.00

To be successful in this role you will have:

• An appropriate Australian recognised trade certificate
• Ability to pass weld test in 2F MMAW 3G MMAW 2F FCAW 3G FCAW
• Experience and knowledge of fixed plant components, such as crushers, screens, conveyors & pumps and chutes (highly desirable)
• WA Drivers Licence.
• Ability to interpret drawings, instructions.
• Analytical and methodical approach to problem solving and be able to work in a team environment.
• The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen
• Ability to provide a national police clearance

Preferred, although not essential:

• First Aid or Senior First Aid Certificate
• Working at Heights
• Confined Space Entry
• Elevated Work Platform competency
• Dogging & Rigging competency
