About the Role

We're on the lookout for an experienced Data Engineering Manager to guide, mentor, and inspire a team of Data Platform and Data Framework Engineers. You'll harness the power of Google Cloud and GEN AI to tackle intricate challenges in banking and finance. Be part of a diverse and inclusive team that encourages growth and excellence.

Your Responsibilities

Recruit, coach, and support engineers, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment.

Lead the engineering process, including agile delivery ceremonies, and work closely with other engineering leaders to troubleshoot delivery obstacles.

Uphold high standards for code quality, security, and testing, integrating them into the team's work ethic.

Work alongside Product Managers to align engineering efforts with business objectives.

Take accountability for the reliability and uptime of essential applications, managing incident responses effectively.

Conduct incident post-mortems, ensuring learnings are actioned to enhance system performance.

Liaise with technology suppliers involved in service delivery.

What We're Looking For

Demonstrated experience in leading data engineering teams within Data and Analytics Platforms.

Strong technical proficiency in Big Data solutions, including Data Warehousing, Data Platforms, Data Frameworks, ETL/ELT technologies, and SQL.

Enthusiasm for boosting efficiency and innovation, utilising Gen AI and automation.

A history of successfully managing complex engineering initiatives within collaborative teams.

Sharp problem-solving skills with the ability to design scalable and sustainable software solutions.

Exceptional communication skills to engage with product and technology stakeholders across the organisation.
