Therapist - Speech Pathologist/Occupational Therapist

Peach Speech Pathology & Allied Health Services Pty Ltd

Coolbellup, Perth WA

Speech Therapy / Occupational Therapy

Part / Full time

Therapist Position

We are excited to offer this salary-based position at Peach Speech Pathology & Allied Health Services. We have a position available for a Therapist - Speech Pathologist or Occupational Therapist. Full or part-time positions available.

About Peach Speech Pathology & Allied Health

1&3/62 Coolbellup Avenue, Coolbellup.

Peach Speech Pathology is a close-knit private practice located in Coolbellup. We have been operating for 10 years, and currently have a team of 11 Therapists, with Therapy Assistants and a full time Administration team. We primarily support clients from early years through to young adults. We are NDIS registered and support a range of privately and NDIS-funded families.

We are a clinic-based practice. This means that Therapists have their own dedicated room or space to work from each day. Therapists are close to their colleagues for support and connection. We have a sensory gym onsite, supporting those clients that need extra space and movement (or Therapists that enjoy a calming swing between clients). With our extensive resource library, the resources you need are at your fingertips (rather than stored in your car boot). We have a dedicated lunch room where the team connects over lunch each day - with a full kitchen for preparing/storing your lunch.

Our Therapists describe Peach as a genuine, friendly and supportive team.

At Peach, our overarching values are Wellness and Excellence, which are embedded into everything we do.

Wellness is promoted by ensuring our Therapists are well supported, including:

  • individualised and achievable targets, with an initial progression that gives new Therapists time to establish themselves in the clinic and get their heads around each client. There is a flexible speed of target progression building into the health and personal goals of the Therapist. Targets are also reduced to 80% over all school holidays and the first week of term one.
  • Flexible start and finish times are available to suit the individual Therapist’s life and goals.
  • Regular support meetings (with experienced Therapists from your specific disciple), weekly team times and ad-hoc support. Our team is often found in the hallways chatting with and supporting each other.
  • Flexible client allocation, ensuring that the clients assigned to each Therapist aligns with their skills and experience.
  • Free, regular in-house professional learning. Therapists also receive an additional 1 week (FTE) professional learning leave, allowing them to access professional learning while maintaining their income.
  • Our full-time administrative team supports daily operations and client bookings, relieving the administration load from Therapists.

The Peach team enjoys meeting regularly for dinners, social engagements, professional learning, and discussions. We recently participated in our first Peach Retreat by the Beach, which was a great way to relax and have fun together. Peach not only offers an excellent service, it really is a great place to work.

The Position

We have positions available that can be tailored to the skills, experience, and goals of the successful applicant.

We welcome new graduates and early-career Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists to apply. Join a team that will support and care for you as you begin your therapy career. Our private practice offers a generalist caseload, providing an excellent environment for you to establish or develop your career and develop your skills across a wide variety of areas.

Leadership opportunities are also available for more experienced Therapists. These roles include opportunities to undertake team leadership and development, contribute to business management, including quality improvement, business promotion and strategic planning.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Speech Pathology or Occupational Therapy, and registration with relevant governing bodies (e.g. Speech Pathology Australia – CPSP status or Occupational Therapy Board of Australia).
  • Well-developed general caseload skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional learning.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate initiative and work with independence, demonstrated problem-solving, time management, and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated exemplary standards of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proof of an acceptable criminal history screening check (WWCC and police clearance within 12 months), NDIS screener check and others as required.
  • Medicare Registration and registration with private health fund providers.
  • Current driver’s license and appropriate vehicle (for community visits).

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience and demonstrated competencies in providing evidence-based therapy services.
  • Proven people and service management skills and experience.
  • Demonstrated team-building skills, including collaboration, negotiation, conflict resolution, and dealing positively with change.
  • Proven positive organisation promotion and engagement with the community.

If you are interested in this position, please send your CV to [email protected] with a cover letter describing why you are interested in the position and what you would bring to the team.

Kind regards,

Jaimi-Lee Jefferies
