Allura Partners are exclusively partnering with a well-known Australian firm who are looking to secure a highly skilled Senior-Lead Engineer for a 12-month contract (likely extend to 24 months).


About the Role

Working in the Data Science team, you will be working on enhancing forecast models to help optimise resource allocation to ensure efficient processing and operations. Beyond this core project, there may be opportunities to contribute to or assist with other data science initiatives within the team.

Skills and Experience

• Tertiary-level education in a relevant field such as data science, econometrics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or applied physics.
• Strong understanding of statistical and machine learning regression techniques, particularly for time series forecasting and causal inference.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL with demonstrated experience.
• Experience applying data science techniques to solve business or applied problems.
• Ability to engage effectively with end users and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated capacity to learn new skills and technologies on the job.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with AWS technologies such as EC2, S3, Redshift, and SageMaker.
• Familiarity with Apache Airflow or similar orchestration libraries.
• Knowledge of data engineering and software development best practices, including scalable algorithm design, clean coding principles, and structured unit testing.
• Experience working with shell scripts and/or Linux environments.
