About the Role
As a Team Leader, you’ll play a pivotal role in overseeing service delivery and leading a dedicated team of Support Specialists, Practitioners, and Workers. You’ll guide the team to provide high-quality care and support to foster and kinship carers, families, and children. Your leadership will ensure that services align with our mission, values, and strategic goals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead & Inspire: Provide mentorship, supervision, and support to a multidisciplinary team, ensuring best practices in child protection and family care.
- Oversee Service Delivery: Manage intake processes, care arrangements, and in-home support services, ensuring they meet legislative and quality standards.
- Collaborate & Advocate: Work closely with families, carers, and key stakeholders (including child protection services, schools, and health professionals) to develop tailored intervention plans.
- Foster Cultural Sensitivity: Provide culturally inclusive services, particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, fostering sustainable outcomes.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Participate in policy development, respond to client feedback, and promote a culture of safety, compliance, and service excellence.
What You’ll Bring:
- Qualifications: Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience: At least three years working with children, youth, and families in statutory care, plus one year of leadership experience in a child protection context.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of child development, trauma-informed care, and out-of-home care frameworks. Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment: A passion for working with vulnerable communities, especially Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, and alignment with the mission and values of Churches of Christ.
- Licensing: Current Driver’s License, National Police Check, and Working with Children (Blue Card), Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check (LCS) or ability to obtain.
