Aged Care Manager

Salary:

A base salary for this position is negotiated under a LifeTec Employment Contract. In addition to the base salary, remuneration for this position also includes 11.5% superannuation and the opportunity to obtain further benefits by salary packaging.

Location:

Milton, Brisbane with possibility of travel

Position Objective

The Aged Care Manager is responsible for the development of a quality and client focused services framework, and the effective and efficient delivery of resultant services. A key goal behind this objective is to ensure LifeTec’s scope of services, delivery models and team capability meet the expectations of key stakeholders including consumers, funding partners, and LifeTec. The Aged Care Manager is responsible for the leadership and development of administrative service delivery staff.

Responsible for developing service improvement strategies in conjunction with management, the Aged Care Manager will drive a process of continuous improvement, service innovation, and sector engagement activities.

The Aged Care Manager is also expected to contribute to the capability, capacity and viability of LifeTec’s services. This will be achieved by:

  • Identifying services that are required and wanted (sector engagement)
  • Developing service models to deliver these services in a client focused, effective and efficient manner (service development)
  • Managing quality service outcomes
  • Leading and developing service delivery staff

Functional Relationships and Reports

The Aged Care Manager will work closely with management and senior staff to achieve the position objectives including meeting both service and business goals. All Aged Care administration staff will report to the Aged Care Manager.

The Aged Care Manager will work with the management team and health professionals, Senior HPs, and Clinical Lead and will communicate with all relevant staff to ensure clarity of strategies, processes and desired outcomes.

Specific Duties

Service Development and Delivery

  • Ensure services remain aligned with LifeTec’s service and business strategies
  • Develop LifeTec’s services to ensure they achieve high service and quality benchmarks as demonstrated in our outcomes
  • Investigate and develop service models that combine innovation with evidence-based practice, and deliver services effectively and efficiently
  • Manage the delivery of services so they remain client focused, effective and efficient

Provide leadership to LifeTec staff

  • Lead and manage relevant staff to achieve organizational objectives
  • Lead and manage relevant staff to ensure a positive team membership and culture is maintained
  • Ensure LifeTec has the necessary capacity and capability to meet current and future service demands
  • Role model desired professional and personal qualities to staff in accordance with LifeTec’s values
  • Effectively manage the resolution of operational and/or people issues and matters
  • Demonstrate appropriate communication and temperament at all times, especially when dealing with challenges

Sector Engagement

  • Participate in consumer engagement activities to identify and stay abreast of their wants, needs and aspirations
  • Utilize sector engagement evidence to ensure services provide good value proposition to stakeholders
  • In conjunction with management, utilise sector engagement evidence to demonstrate the social and economic value of AT

Manage LifeTec’s outcomes and research activities

  • Manage relevant research activities to progress evidence-based practice and innovative practice including new service models

Business Development, Marketing and Promotion

  • Contribute toward the identification and development of new business opportunities and initiatives
  • Work closely with the Business Development and Marketing Manager to ensure a joint approach is taken to ensure the growth of LifeTec services
  • Contribute towards the development of funding and other business submissions as required
  • Participation in the development and implementation of marketing strategies
  • Actively promote and represent LifeTec to stakeholders in a professional manner in line with our communications strategy

Quality Management Systems

Work with the Quality and Compliance Manager and CEO to:

  • Manage Incidents and Accidents happening within the Aged Care Programs
  • Manage Complaints and Compliments within the the Aged Care Programs
  • Develop appropriate quality control processes to unsure LifeTec’s services and operational models remain effective, efficient, and meet quality requirements
  • Ensure LifeTec continues to meet quality and safety standards required to meet all required regulations and standards
  • Contribute to Continuous Quality Improvement processes and associated Audits as part of the Quality Management System Team
  • Participate in and contribute to the Business Continuity Management Team, including processes to manage the safe and effective continuity of LifeTec services through times of challenging circumstance e.g. pandemics, extreme weather events and other situations which could potentially impact on LifeTec service delivery

Confidentiality and Legislative Responsibilities

  • Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality and privacy in accordance with LifeTec guidelines and Employment Contract. This includes non-disclosure of employment conditions (including salary) to LifeTec staff outside of senior management
  • Practice (and model), safe and professional work practices including Health and Safety principles and Equal Employment Opportunity
  • Ensure management is notified of any change in security checks that impact on LifeTec

Service Manager Key Performance Indicators

  • A set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will be agreed with the Aged Care Services Manager and will form a part of the ongoing performance measurement of the role.
  • The KPIs will include performance and behavioral indicators
