About the role

This role aims to enhance EA’s impact on engineering issues and engage its membership. It supports the Division General Manager in executing the division's business plan, ensuring good governance, effective service delivery, and fostering collaboration with members, volunteers, and external stakeholders in industry, education, government, and community. This role is based in Melbourne, Victoria.

As our Stakeholder engagement manager, you will:

  • Assist the Division General Manager in developing and implementing strategies to enhance Engineers Australia's impact, brand, and membership.
  • Identify and create impactful partnerships with stakeholders across industry, education, government, and community.
  • Support and collaborate with the Professional Development team on local event activities and serve as an ambassador for Engineers Australia.
  • Support office bearers and volunteers, including partnering with the Division President and Committee.
  • Operate as an ambassador for Engineers Australia and lead or participate in events and functions.
  • Stay informed about local and broader engineering issues, support the Division General Manager, in office administration tasks, and perform other duties as required.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • You can build relationships with senior people, internally and externally and can contribute to the design of strategy and plans.
  • You are comfortable delivering presentations, public speaking and hosting meeting and events and with influencing and working across teams, without direct reporting line authority.
  • You demonstrate initiative and accountability; you are efficient, able to organise and prioritise work, garner resources and deliver required outputs whilst tackling multiple tasks.
  • You are a committed team player with excellent interpersonal skills, organisational and time management skills.
  • You have outstanding written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to deliver a message with enthusiasm, energy and authority.
  • You bring with you, or are excited to develop, a working knowledge of (non-technical) engineering matters.
  • You have a background in delivering high quality experiences and services.
  • Ideally you have experience in at least one of: member or customer service/engagement, policy, advocacy, media, STEM, industry engagement or corporate events.
