About the role

Cunnamulla Aboriginal Corporation for Health is seeking an experienced Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker to join our dedicated team in Cunnamulla, QLD. This full-time role will be responsible for providing culturally appropriate primary healthcare services to the local Indigenous community.

What you'll be doing

• Deliver comprehensive primary healthcare services including health assessments, monitoring chronic conditions, and health promotion activities
• Provide culturally sensitive support and education to clients on health-related matters
• Assist with the coordination and delivery of community health programs and initiatives
• Facilitate access to healthcare services and liaise with other healthcare providers
• Maintain detailed client records and contribute to the organisation's reporting requirements

What we're looking for

• Certificate III or IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care, or equivalent qualification
• Experience working in a primary healthcare setting, preferably with an Indigenous community
• Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, health beliefs, and practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
• Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office applications
• A genuine commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
