About the opportunity:
Position: Advanced Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Health Worker (Identified) - This is an identified position - Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
Vacancy: Permanent full-time
Location: Townsville
The Advanced Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Health Worker (Identified) will:
- Provide a range of hearing health services (working within a delegated Model of Care) to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children within the service area.
- Participate in the delivery of culturally effective services consistent with core business with a specific focus on hearing screening, competency based training programs, and health education services.

- Salary range: $2878.20 to $3958.00 p.f. (HWF3)
- Annual leave with 17.5% loading

Requirements:
- Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
- Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
- Appointment, and future increment progression, between paypoints HWF3.1 to HWF3.5 requires:
- Appointment, and future increment progression, between paypoints HWF3.2 to HWF3.7, or HWF3.8 (limited to employees who meet the requirements of HED 04/23) requires:
- Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
- Possession of class C drivers' licence.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
- Probation period may apply.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted including Criminal History Clearance and Blue Card
