About the role

This full-time Mechanical Fitter role at Tasman Water Technologies Pty Ltd offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic company at their Wetherill Park, NSW location. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a vital part in the maintenance and repair of water treatment equipment onsite and in the workshop, contributing to the smooth operation of the business.

What you'll be doing

• Perform skilled mechanical fitting and maintenance tasks on a variety of Water Treatment equipment, inhouse and on site.
• Machine basic parts, using lathe, mill, welder etc
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, implementing effective solutions, pumps, gearbox's, valves, etc
• Fabrication and welding using Mig, Stick and Tig
• Carry out preventative maintenance as per schedules and manufacturer guidelines
• Liaise with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks
• Maintain detailed records and documentation of all work performed, complete Field service reports, etc
• Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures

What we're looking for

• Formal qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant trade
• Ideally 3 year's experience as a Mechanical Fitter in an industrial or a manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Good machining skills, mainly lathe's, CNC and welders
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and specifications
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs and plant/equipment overhaul
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to workplace health and safety
