Role Overview:
The Human Resources Advisor will play a key role in driving HR excellence, ensuring compliance with awards and legislation, and contributing to the development of policies and operational practices. Reporting to the company's CEO, support organizational goals, and provide expert HR advice across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Development: Provide guidance, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
- Award Interpretation and Compliance: Interpret modern awards, ensure policies align with legal standards, develop and implement compliant policies and procedures with the HR team.and stay updated on legislative changes.
- HR Operations and Recruitment: Oversee recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and maintaining accurate HR documentation; Handle employee relations, providing mediation and resolving concerns promptly.
- Relationship Management and Employee Engagement: Serve as a trusted HR advisor to both employees and senior management; Build positive relationships with staff and management, promoting open communication and inclusivity.
- Performance Management and Development: Develop and implement fair and consistent performance management systems; Collaborate with managers to provide employee feedback and development opportunities.
- Policy Development and Implementation: Assist in developing, communicating, and enforcing HR policies, ensuring compliance and understanding.
- Workplace Health & Safety: Support WHS initiatives by addressing incidents and fostering a safety-focused culture.
What We're Looking for:
Essential:
- A Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in HR, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of HR laws, awards, and regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
- Strong attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to work independently.
Desirable
- Experience with HR software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience in a similar sector such as community services or NDIS
