About the role

Mechanical Vegetation Solutions' is seeking a skilled Yard Hand / Small Machinery Mechanic to join our team based between pur three sites at Edwardstown, Willunga and Tattachilla, South Australia. This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our range of small machinery used for various landscaping and vegetation management projects across South Australia.

What you'll be doing

• Performing routine maintenance and servicing on a variety of small plant and equipment such as chainsaws, trimmers, mowers, and other machinery
• Conducting minor repairs and troubleshooting to keep our fleet of small machinery in optimal working condition
• Assisting with the safe operation and storage of equipment
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repair activities
• Collaborating with the wider team to ensure efficient and effective fleet management

What we're looking for

• Preferable experience as a small engine/machinery mechanic, ideally within the landscaping, horticulture or related industries
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose and repair a range of small machinery
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship
• Comfort working both independently and as part of a team
• A valid driver's license and HR (preference but not essential) with the ability to operate a range of small machinery safely
• Enthusiasm for working in an active, outdoor environment
• Starting at approximately 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday with the possibility of increased hours in the future
