About the Job

Due to substantial growth and exposure Instrowest has gained within the weighing industry, we are seeking a meticulous and technically adept Weightometer Technician to join our dynamic team. As a Weightometer Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and calibrating our clients weight measurement systems, ensuring they operate at peak performance. Your expertise will help our clients achieve accurate and reliable measurements, essential for their operations.

Not only will you have the exciting responsibility of ensuring our clients' weightometers are calibrated accurately, you'll also dive into sales of weightometers and parts, oversee installation projects, lead shutdown operations, and contribute to enhancing our product line-up.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Weightometer calibrations and commissioning - specialising in Siemens, Ramsey and Tecweigh. We calibrate all manufactures of belt scales using the correct methods to achieve the highest accuracy
• Weightometer Installations and alignments - Installing weightometers that Instrowest supports as well as completing alignments on all installation types
• Project work - we complete every aspect of a job for our clients. This includes scoping, sourcing pricing from suppliers, quoting and finally completing the installation. Seeing the fruits of all the hard work you put in
• Shutdown assistance - take the lead on shutdowns that a primarily weightometer focused. This can involve calibrations, alignments and installations as well as completing audits
• Client liaising - you will deal with our clients directly. This includes finding solutions for their instrument problems, writing follow up reports, writing proposals, quoting and sending calibration certificates

Qualifications & experience

• Experience working with weighing devices is highly desirable
• Current West Australian Electrical worker’s license - restricted electrical licence is a minimum
• C class drivers license or greater
• Current Police clearance certificate
• Experience in mining and preferably worked away (FIFO/DIDO)
• Be able to pass a medical screen
• Must live in the Perth metro area or willing to relocate
• The following are desirable but not essential: Current First Aid/CPR/LVR, Working at Heights, Confined Spaces, EWP, LF, EEHA, LR Drivers License

• Majority of the work is short-term jobs all over WA and occasionally interstate. Perfect for if you hate those long 2, 3 or 4 week swings. You could be working in Kalgoorlie, Port Hedland and locally all within the same week.
• Exposure to a variety of different mineral processes. Gold, Nickel, Lithium, Iron Ore and Lead
• Improve or expand your existing weightometer knowledge. Instrowest will aim to develop you into a specialist in weightometers with ongoing training and support from our experienced team
• Work within a small team with an exceptional bunch of people. No site politics to deal with. Your hard work and technical growth won't go unnoticed we recognize and reward effort
