About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Senior Worker to join our team. In this full-time role, you will provide practice leadership, supervision, and support to team members while also delivering high-quality, trauma-informed services to clients experiencing domestic, family, and sexual violence. The Senior Worker plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional client services, while also fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Team Leader in overseeing quality service delivery and supporting team development.
- Provide trauma-informed, flexible, and responsive support to clients, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Supervise, mentor, and support Casuals, Students, Support Workers, and Graduates in alignment with the PASE Capability Framework.
- Lead case management, safety planning, and advocacy efforts for clients in crisis.
- Support the allocation of client cases and assist in prioritising team workloads.
- Provide guidance and expertise in the coordination of brokerage budgets to meet client needs.
- Ensure compliance with organisational practice frameworks, policies, and legislative requirements.
- Lead by example in upholding DVACโs organisational values, fostering a positive and safe work environment.
- Participate in the ongoing development and implementation of best practices within the team and broader organisation.
About You:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in human services (e.g., social work, psychology, community services).
- Minimum of 4 yearsโ experience in a specialist field related to domestic, family, and sexual violence.
- Experience in leadership and mentoring frontline staff, with a focus on trauma-informed practice.
- Strong knowledge of gender-based violence risk assessment, safety planning, crisis support, and case management.
- Ability to engage with clients in a compassionate and client-centred manner, ensuring their recovery and empowerment.
- Familiarity with the Domestic & Family Violence Protection Act 2012 and related legislation.
- Excellent communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and handle multiple priorities.
