Full-time - Fixed-term position
About the role:
We are currently seeking a full-time Placement Support Worker to join our team in Rockhampton. They will find prompt and appropriate placement for children requiring care once referred by Child Safety Services. Our Placement Support Worker will also monitor approved carers and the placement of children and ensure all renewals, licensing and standards of care are met.
What will a typical day look like?
- Engage with carers to support children in all aspects of life, at home and in the wider community.
- Use observational and evaluation skills to contribute to the assessment of children and carers needs.
- Work collaboratively with Child Safety Services, community agencies and elders to establish and maintain sound working relationships.
- Provide on call services through a scheduled roster.
- Identify carer training and developmental needs to ensure the needs of the children are met.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Certificate IV in Community Services (Child Protection) with significant experience in a similar field.

Other Requirements:
- Full COVID-19 Vaccination
- Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption)
- Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice)
