About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity to join Clinpath Pathology in a newly created role, where you will be responsible for leading and driving a positive and compliant culture of Health and Safety and ESG best practice within the organisation.
The role reports to the Chief Executive Officer and works closely with the Human Resources team. In this role, you will lead the implementation of Clinpath Pathology’s Work, Health and Safety management systems as well as ESG initiatives through the provision of support and assistance to Managers, Health and Safety Representatives (HSR’s) and employees.
You will be responsible for the implementation of Work, Health and Safety strategies to ensure a safe workplace, including the prevention of workplace injuries and training our team on safety and emergency programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, support and advice on a broad range of work health and safety and ESG matters
- Ongoing assessment of risks in each department and institute preventative measures
- WHS Policy collation and maintenance
- Manage the implementation and review process for all work health and safety systems and strategies
- Chairing monthly WHS committee meetings
- Provide written and verbal reports, as required to the Executive
- Monitor, develop and implement key initiatives and management plans to ensure best practice and compliance obligations are met
- Ensure the organisation maintains currency with all relevant legislation, regulations, codes and standards
- Represent Clinpath Pathology in Sonic WHS and ESG meetings
- Chief Fire Warden
- Continual development and implementation of risk management strategies
- Maintaining hazard and chemical registers and making appropriate recommendations
- Implement a philosophy of continuous improvement with the promotion of a safe and healthy work environment
- Implement Sonic ESG initiatives at all Clinpath sites, and staff engagement in ESG activities
Applicants should possess the following:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety
- Experience in Work Health and Safety is an advantage
- A sound working knowledge of associated legislation, regulations, codes and standards
- Ability to comprehensively analyse and report to the executive team
- Well-developed relationship management and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads to meet competing deadlines
- The ability to operate autonomously, but within a framework for accountability to Senior Management
- Proficient, motivated and highly organised with great attention to detail
- Experience with risk identification, incident management and investigations with a focus on problem solving
Essential Requirements
- Unrestricted Australian driver’s licence

About Clinpath Adelaide Pathology
Clinpath Laboratories is a highly respected, well established private pathology practice, providing laboratory services to general practitioners, specialists, private hospitals, and aged care facilities in Adelaide, South Australia.
Clinpath Laboratories operates over 160 licensed collection centres conveniently located throughout metropolitan Adelaide.
Patients may have specimens collected at any of these locations by our experienced specimen collection staff, and for most routine tests no appointment is required.
Specimens are transported to our laboratories by experienced, well trained Clinpath couriers who work 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The laboratory is located in Mile End, SA.
