Our client, a leading global organisation, is looking for a talented Risk & Insurance Officer to join their team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to shaping the future of risk management and insurance in a dynamic, international environment.
As the Risk & Insurance Manager will be part of our client’s Compliance and Governance function. You will report directly to the Compliance Officer and work closely with the Group Risk and Insurance Manager.
In this position, you will collaborate with various functions and businesses within the company’s South Pacific Holdings group of legal entities, assisting with a broad range of risk and insurance activities. This will include working with internal stakeholders, external insurance brokers, and insurance companies—all while aligning with our client’s global Risk and Insurance strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate corporate insurance value reporting for group insurances
- Manage the coordination between Group Risk Management, insurance providers, and local business units in Australia
- Provide insurance certificates and assist with insurance claims
- Support M&A processes and insurance integration
- Evaluate adequacy of local insurance coverage, limits, and deductibles
- Oversee the insurance renewal process and negotiate insurance coverage
- Ensure accuracy of insurance policies and payments
- Review insurance clauses in contracts and offer advice in line with global Risk and Insurance guidelines
- Participate in Risk Management activities such as loss prevention and business continuity management
The Ideal Candidate:
- Relevant academic education in a related field
- 10+ years of experience within the insurance industry, exposure to international markets or work experience within is a bonus
- Knowledge of property, business interruption, construction/installation, liability, and marine cargo insurance (cyber, financial lines, and M&A experience is a plus)
- Strong network and relationships within the insurance industry
- Exceptional negotiation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure
- Self-starter, structured, goal-oriented, with excellent communication skills and high integrity
Location & Travel:
This position is based at Perth Airport with a 3:2 hybrid working model, with occasional travel required.
