Murrindindi Shire Council are seeking an exceptional individual to join their organisation as their Grants Officer.

They now have an exciting opportunity for a Grants Officer to join their team.
About the role:
As the Grants Officer reporting to the Manager Community Wellbeing, you would work across the organisation providing strategic direction, leadership and direct delivery of functions associated with identifying, securing and administering of grant funding. You would provide expert advice to ensure equitable, well-governed programs that benefit Council and the community.
Key responsibilities would include:
- Manage the program seeking external grant funding.
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of a grant strategy to support Council's objectives.
- Identify, research, and inform Business Units of external funding opportunities.
- Lead research, prioritisation, and reporting for external funding applications.
- Strengthen relationships with government departments and funding bodies.
- Prepare and present reports on grant programs, including managing the grant register.
- Stay updated on community issues to inform grant strategy and build community capacity.
- Provide guidance on grant guidelines and program operations.
- Act as a probity advisor to ensure transparency in outgoing grant programs.
- Conduct annual reviews of outgoing grant programs.
- Enhance community capacity to apply for and manage grant funding.
To contribute to your success in this role key skills include:
- A strong track record of successful funding applications that contribute to agreed strategic goals and the community.
- Significant practical experience in liaising with, influencing and working with a variety of community groups and external organisations.
- Demonstrated sound interpersonal skills and ability to coach, influence and work as part of a team.
- Significant experience with electronic systems, applications and software in particular for the management of multiple and complex projects.
- Demonstrated analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility.
- Deep understanding and skills in project management methodology (preferred but not mandatory).
Also required would be relevant tertiary qualifications and/or significant practical experience in community development, grant management and/or project management in local government, or a similar complex environment.
