About the Role:
The Venue Manager is a critical leadership role at Dune Beer Co., responsible for overseeing all aspects of the restaurant's operations and ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for our guests. This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong work ethic, a passion for hospitality, and a proven ability to lead and motivate a team. Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and motivate the venue team (FOH, BOH, and bar staff).
Foster a positive and inclusive work environment built on respect, collaboration, and open communication.
Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions.
Manage staff scheduling, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
Lead by example, demonstrating the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.
Build up colleagues, providing support and encouragement for their professional development.
Create a caring and nurturing team environment.

Operational Management:
Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
Manage inventory control, ordering, and cost control.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the venue.
Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Implement and enforce company policies and procedures consistently.
Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Manage reservations and guest communication.

Customer Service:
Ensure exceptional customer service is provided at all times.
Handle customer complaints and resolve issues effectively.
Build relationships with regular customers and create a welcoming atmosphere. Foster a sense of community within the venue.

Financial Management:
Manage the venue's budget and expenses.
Monitor and report on financial performance.
Implement strategies to increase revenue and profitability.

Marketing & Promotions:
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement promotional activities.
Promote the venue and its offerings within the local Albany community, highlighting our family-run nature and commitment to sustainability.

Sustainability Practices:
Champion and implement Dune Beer Co.'s sustainability initiatives within the venue operations.
Educate staff on sustainable practices and encourage their participation.
Minimize waste and promote responsible resource consumption.

Qualifications & Experience:
Proven experience as a Venue Manager or in a similar leadership role in the hospitality industry.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A passion for hospitality and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Knowledge of restaurant operations, including inventory management, cost control, and POS systems.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure effectively.
A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
A commitment to ethical leadership and a respectful workplace.
Love for policies and procedures.
Progressive thinker and open to new ideas.
Current RSA and Approved Managers certification.
Food handling certificate (preferred).
A genuine interest in environmental sustainability and a commitment to incorporating those values into venue operations.
