About the Position
The successful candidate will play a vital role within the City, dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service and support, both internally and externally. As a Customer Service Officer, you will exemplify professionalism, enthusiasm, genuine empathy, and strong problem-solving skills to assist customers in achieving resolution-based outcomes. Your resourcefulness and proactive initiative will shine through in your communication style, collaboration with colleagues, and your approach to systems and technology, with strong attention to detail will ensure accurate and efficient handling of enquiries, requests, and payments using the Customer Request Management and other relevant systems.
To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate:
- Current National Police Clearance.
- Previous experience in a Customer Service environment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including a professional and engaging telephone manner.
- Ability to multitask and apply knowledge to tasks in the appropriate context, with effective time management skills.
- Proven ability to deal with difficult customers both over the phone and face to face.
- Proficiency in keyboard/ data entry skills with 98% accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration and team skills.
- Cashiering experience using corporate based systems and technology - desirable.
- Experience with Local Government software and/ or operations - desirable.
