The purpose of this role, Team Leader Therapeutic Family Violence, is to:
• Lead the practice and strengthening of therapeutic responses to Aboriginal victim survivors of family violence to improve victim survivor outcomes.
• Contribute to building evidence about effective practice approaches for responding to Aboriginal victim survivors of family violence, including victim survivors from diverse populations and across the Family and Community Services programs and client groups
• Identify how Aboriginal therapeutic approaches might be incorporated into future service delivery frameworks and organisational operating models.
• Identify and facilitate access to a broad range of therapeutic approaches for family violence victim survivors including adults and/or children across diverse cohorts.

Key Selection Criteria:
• Work within the boundaries of a strong therapeutic care team model, work with children, adults, and their families in a therapeutic approach (healing) including the therapeutic crisis intervention model.
• Be a model for the clients by demonstrating appropriate and respectful behavior and communication.
• Carrying and managing a caseload; providing a range of therapeutic interventions including outreach support.
• High level organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to self-motivated and work autonomously.
• Demonstrated ability to give and take instruction from peers working in a respectful team environment with a rotating roster.
• Solve problems based on operation knowledge and experiences and following a continuous improvement process, in line with policy procedures and therapeutic approach and frameworks.
• Demonstrated leadership capability, to work with and impart knowledge to staff clients and other key stakeholders.
• Take action to provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and engage in learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve services.
Qualification/s:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, or a relevant field and experience in delivering therapeutic interventions for victims of Family Violence, or Diploma in Community Services.
Other Screening Requirements:
A current Driver’s License that allows you to drive in Australia.
A current Employee Working with Children Check card.
A current National Police Check.
